[align=left]Entschuldigt den Doppelpost, aber es ist ein "neues" Problem aufgetreten. Dieses Mal habe ich aber glaub ich alle Informationen zusammen getragen :D

Folgendes Problem: Ich hätte die Auflösung gerne auf 1152*864@75Hz. Ist auch soweit kein Problem, obwohl folgende Fehler in der Konsole gelistet werden, wenn ich nvidia-settings starte:

Leider weiß ich nicht, was sie bedeuten und Google spuckt auch nichts brauchbares aus :(

Auf jeden Fall lässt sich die Auflösung ändern, aber sie bleibt nicht. Sobald der X-Server neu gestartet wird (ist doch der X-Server mit STRG+ALT+BACKSPACE, oder?), bin ich wieder auf 1024*768.

Der treffende Teil der xorg.conf dürfte der hier sein:

Das "1152*864" habe ich bereits selbst eingefügt ohne Erfolg. Mir ist jedoch noch diese Zeile aufgefallen:

Darunter steht allerdings

Ich habe kein nvidia und die anderen Ubuntu-User hier haben, glaube ich, auch alle ATI-Karten. Ich weiß nicht, ob dir in diesem Fall hier jemand weiterhelfen kann.

Ich bin zwar Nvidia-User aber ich weiß dir nicht wirklich zu helfen. Nur was halt auffält, dass deine Xorg.conf ziemlich durcheinander ist ?(
Versuch die vlt irgendwie wieder hinzubekommen :D
Hast du eigentlich schonmal mit neuinstallation des Treibers versucht?

E: Konnte Paket nvidia-* nicht finden

Hab es vorhin mal nochmal probiert und da hat es irgendwie funktioniert (es kam also Abfrage J/N) und danach habe ich den Treiber nochmal installiert. Hat aber nichts verändert. Nochmaliger Versuch endete wieder mit "Konnte Paket nvidia-* nicht finden" :(

Wie sieht denn eine ordentliche xorg.conf aus :( ?

Sure? Ich glaube, dass muss man noch einstellen, dass einfach eine neue erstellt wird.

Versuch doch mal deinen GraKa Treiber mit Hilfe von envy zu installieren, denn envy legt eine gute xorg.conf an. Ich hab bei mir nur die "1280x1024" hinzugefügt. Vll hilfts ja :)

Pretty Sure ;)

War bisher auf allen meinen Distris so, dass wenn meine Xorg.conf auf Urlaub war, X eine neue erstellt hat.

Kommplett standart halt und manchmal funzt die halt auch nicht, weil z.B. bei Radeon Karten ati als Treiber eingesetzt wird und zumindest bei mir so gut wie nie funzt :D
Deshalb sagte ich ja, dass man dann halt einfach die minimal wichtigsten Einstellungen von Hand ändern soll.
