Aloha,

ich hab ein Problem mit meiner xorg.conf bzw. das ich bei X (KDE) eine max. Auflösung von 1024x768 fahren kann.

Ich hatte des Problem vor ca. einer Woche bei den restricted modulen.

Nvidia Treiber : NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1
Xserver : 6.08
TFT : Samsung 940BF (kann 75Hz)
GFX : 6600 GT

Die installation verlief bis auf einen API Missmatch (gelöst!) reibungslos.

Das nvidia Logo wird beim starten angezeigt und die nvidia x server settings zeigen ihre Informationen an.

Problem : Ich kann keine höhere Auflösung als 1024x768 fahren, anbei meine xorg.conf bzw. die eine die ich mit reconfigure erstellt habe und meine individuelle. Unter beiden keine 1280x1024 möglich und ich bin mir sicher das dass geht

Du solltest vielleicht auch mal die Dick markierten Werte überprüfen, da diesen Werten oft auch Probleme verursachen können wenn sie nicht stimmen. Hast du mal in deinem Monitorhandbuch nachgelesen welche Werte dein Monitor hat ? Kannst auch kurz schreiben wie dein Monitor heißt dann schau ich auch ob ich die Werte finde.

Ich werde nochmal googlen, ob diese Werte auch stimmen - aber nach meinen Information "ja".

Oki scheint ja zu stimmen hast du mal unter: "System->Einstellungen->Bildschirmauflösung" Versucht es zu verstellen ?

Ich habe mir das Log File angeschaut vom X Server.

Aloha, ich habe mir noch das *.inf File angeschaut für XP :

Werte sollten also passen ... ^^ So bin mal am weiter probieren ...

Ach unter System Settins --> Video : gibt er mir zu Auswahl nur die 1024x768 mit komischen Werteb wie 50Hz 51Hz 52Hz 53Hz.

Unter dem NVIDIA Panel zeigt er 75Hz an mit 1024x768.

Ging es mit einem älteren Treiber ?

Ich hatte da auch mal solch ein Problem. Ich habe es damals gelöst in dem ich den Xserver neukonfiguriert habe und am Ende bei der Monitorauswahl "simple" gewählt habe und dann nur die Größe des Monitors angegeben habe. Danach konnte ich die max. Auflösung verwenden.

Also ich bin wirklich am Ende, seit 5 Tagen mach ich nichts anderes als mit allen Options rumzuprobieren.

Es kommt mir so vor, egal was ich einstelle - ich komme nicht auf die 1280x1024.

Anscheinend bin ich zu unfähig, habe jetzt die meisten Foren und Threads durchgelesen.

Meine xorg.conf ist glaube ich schon 20 mal gebackuped und ich verliere die Lust mich weiter mit Ubuntu bzw. mangelhaften NVIDIA EDID Abfragen zu quälen.

Wenn die DDC Kommunikation nicht stimmt, bzw. der xserver immer meinet der Monitor würde ihn was anderes sagen ?

ps ich würd eh lieber auf 60hz lassen im monitor, beim flat is das ja relativ egal. der flakert ja nicht

Ich werde es heute Abend nach der Arbeit nochmal testen, was ich vermute das entweder was mit den Treiber nicht stimmt (obwohl der laut log richtig geladen wird)

Hmmm, oder der Treiber frägt per DCC den Monitor ab und der gibt ihn falsche Werte.

Ich werd es doch weiter testen ... so schnell will ich dann doch nicht aufgeben.

Warum removed der immer, das wäre mal ne essentiale Frage ?

Hast du eine ältere Treiber Version mal Versucht ? Vielleicht handelt es sich ja auch um eine Bug.

Mit den alten war das eigentlich auch nicht richtig möglich.

Da ich damals wie ein wilder was zusammen gepastet habe um die Auflösung mit den alten Treibern zu bewerkstelligen.

Ich hatte dann beim Loginscreen unter KDE am Anfang merkwürdige Effekt - wie das der Lademanager nicht in der mitte war, allerdings 1280x1024.

Ich glaub das der die EDID Werte nicht richtig ausliest.

Allerdings haben die Optionen mit Edid false nichts gebracht.

Ich glaub mit der Config sollte es ggf. gehen :

Desweiteren habe ich gelesen, das der Splash Screen vom Ubuntu teilweise murks macht :


Ok... problem solved (well, not really but it is at least, diagnosed).

The (K)Ubuntu splash screen with its progress bar is conflicting with the nvidia driver for some reason leading to the strange X11 behavior described.

Solution for now, turn off the (K)Ubuntu splash screen, by doing:

sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

and then editing any kernel line of the form:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-10-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet splash

to:

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-10-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet

(ie. removing the splash screen)


Ich werde heute Abend berichten ob alles geklappt hat ....
