Der neue Treiber ist da, mit neuen Features und Bugfixes. Wird per Copy&Paste weiter unten erläutert. (Weil sehr viel :-) )

Neue Features:

- This release of the Catalyst™ Linux software driver introduces UYVY and YUY2 pixel format support. This support provides interleaved stream support for video playback applications such as TVTime and MythTV.

Behobene Probleme:

- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars: Playing the demo on a system running X no longer results in corruption being noticed. Further details can be found in topic number 737-35208
- Maya 2008: An incorrect colormap is no longer displayed for texture selector on systems running X. Further details can be found in topic number 737-35207
- Quake 3 Arena (demo): Segmentation faults no longer occur when attempting to play the game. Further details can be found in topic number 737-35206
- Quake3: Corruption is no longer noticed when changing the display resolution when the game is running. Further details can be found in topic number 737-35209
- SECAM, NTSC or PAL signal changes when using aticonfig or Catalyst Control Center and now gets applied to the TV display output. Further details can be found in topic number 737-34297
- Running X server without a window manager no longer results in the X server flashing green for a moment, going black, and the computer becoming unresponsive. Further details can be found in topic number 737-34299

- Clock Gating is now supported and enable under the Linux operating system. Further details can be found in topic number 737-35191

Hm. Also zur Zeit kann ich den Treiber nicht empfehlen. Macht zu viele Probleme (vor allem für Zocker).

@Cheekyboinc: Kannst du meinen Edit im Wiki zurückhalten? Ist zur Zeit besser, wenn der alte Treiber (8.5) noch erwähnt bleibt.

Bei mir lief der 8.5er gar nicht (konnte meine AGP-Grafikkarte überhaupt nicht ansprechen), der 8.6er packt das jetzt aber. Ich habe zugegeben ein komisches Board (Alive-Dual-esata2 mit NF3-Chipset, AM2-Sockel, PCIe und AGP), aber der neue Treiber läuft.
Raubcodierer sind Verbrecher. Stop DRM!

Solange ich diesen "dualscreen"-Schachbrett-Bug (Screenshot ist nicht von mir, sieht bei mir aber genauso aus und ich bin definitiv nicht der einzige, der den hat) habe und nicht weiß, wie man den behebt, will ich den Treiber nicht weiterempfehlen.

Die änderungen sind noch nicht freigegeben, also für normale User nicht zu erkennen :)
Daher wird die alte Version noch angezeigt.

Solange du mir nicht sagst es ist okay, werde ich ihn nicht freischalten.

Jo, wollte damit sagen, dass du die nicht freigeben sollst, aber sieht wohl so aus, als wäre das ein Bug dieses Treibers. Ob es dazu ein Workaround gibt... Bin da noch skeptisch.

*uhm* sorry aber was heißt da komisches Board? Ich habe das selbe (und wollte auch genau das haben) aber meine nvidia (agp) macht absolut keine Probleme. Inklusive TV-Out. Das Brett rennt wie ein Schnitzel und ist absolut in Ordnung :D
